Cobb County

Population 457,000+
Sales Tax is 5%

Located just outside of Atlanta on the north side of I-285 and off of I-75 from exits 108 through 120. Cobb County is actually broken down into two sections. East Cobb, on the east side of I-75 and West Cobb, the west side of I-75. Everyone is attracted to this County for several reasons including employment opportunity, excellent school systems, Kennesaw Mountain and six Flags over Georgia just to mention a few. Cobb County is very convenient to everything from Atlanta to Lake Allatoona. Marietta is the main city in Cobb County and the city has a beautiful down town called "The Square", where you can shop, eat and have a cappuccino at the local coffee shop. The major mall here is Town Centre' Mall in Kennesaw and one of the major Hospital in Marietta is Kennestone Hospital located off I-75 exit 114B.

THE CITIES OF COBB COUNTY

Marietta Population 45,000+
Again, this area is divided into two parts, East Cobb and West Cobb. All of East Cobb
is considered Marietta. East Cobb is vibrant with not much more room to grow. The schools are some of the finest and the convenience, among other things, makes this community very desirable. West Cobb includes all the other cities in Cobb County, and this is where the center of Marietta is. West Cobb is one of the fastest growing areas in metro Atlanta. There is still plenty of land here and some of the newer neighborhoods here are beautiful swim/tennis communities with friendly faces.

Acworth Population 5,000+
Acworth is located in the north west corner of Cobb County. You'll find part of Lake Allatoona here and you'll also find homes on larger lots. Acworth is still growing and it's a great place to consider moving to.

Kennesaw Population 9,000+
Kennesaw known for Kennesaw Mountain where the battles of the civil war took place, now a great historical place to go for a hike, or drive to the top and have a picnic. Kennesaw is also where Town Centre' Mall is, where you can "shop till you drop" and "eat all you can eat" a real happened place.

Smyrna Population 31,000+ (SMER-NA)
Everyone new to the area has trouble pronouncing this name. Centrally located in Cobb County on the corners of I-285 and I-75 this is probably the most convenient of locations. Hwy 41 runs through the center, and with commercial building, car dealerships and offices in this area, along with the Galleria Center (a Conference center and Shopping) Smyrna still retains its quality as a residential community.

Austell Population 5,000+
Powder Springs: Population 6,900+
Powder Springs and Austell are quiet towns growing fast because of their location in West Cobb. The County is currently building a major road called the East-West Connector and it does just that. Connecting Powder Springs and Austell to I-285, which will make these cities more convenient and accessible to Atlanta and everywhere else.

Vinings Population 6,900+
This quaint town has some of the older but beautiful neighborhoods and you can see a spectacular view of Atlanta in the higher elevations. Vinings has an old fantastic center with some of the finest shopping and restaurants around.

Cobb County has a lot to offer and there is plenty to do and see. The location of Cobb County is very convenient. You have your major interstate and shopping all around, you can go to the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Lake and down town Atlanta in a short period of time, plus Cobb County has some of the finest schools. I prefer Cobb County myself, as a matter of fact I live in East Cobb in Marietta and I love it. The taxes are lower than some of the surrounding counties and the traffic isn't as bad as it is elsewhere.
